Greenwich Millennium Village welcomes iconic new address
On Thursday 11th November, Greenwich Millennium Village, a joint venture between Countryside and Taylor Wimpey in association with the Mayor of London, reached a major milestone with the topping out of the hotly anticipated next residential landmark, The Observatory. The ceremony celebrated completing the structure of the latest residential building, which will comprise 65 superior quality one and two-bedroom apartments at this renowned development.
Forming part of the ‘Parkside Collection’, The Observatory boasts a prime position within Greenwich Millennium Village, located adjacent to the River Thames and the ecology park, with its abundance of green space. What’s more, an exclusive rooftop terrace located on the 10th floor, will allow residents to enjoy the spectacular views the building’s position affords. From the sun rising over the Thames Barrier to sunset over Canary Wharf, the viewing platform features attractive landscaping and seating, offering residents an urban oasis where they can escape the bustle of the vibrant city.

The light and spacious properties have been thoughtfully designed to maximise the building’s truly unique position, affording fantastic views over London and the surrounding parkland - either through the floor to ceiling windows or from the private balcony of each home. Additionally, the bright and airy flexible living spaces, paired with high-speed internet, facilitates working from home with ease.
Residents can expect to move into these luxurious new homes from September 2022. With Help to Buy available on selected properties, each home will be sold with a superior specification, offering potential buyers all the comforts of modern living. Featuring high-end fittings, the kitchens showcase quality stone worktops with fully-integrated Bosch appliances, whilst cupboards provide ample storage space. Additionally, bedrooms will be sold with luxurious built-in wardrobes, alongside private en suites and bathrooms boasting stylish sanitaryware and mirrored lit vanity units. Engineered timber flooring, fully carpeted bedrooms and underfloor heating complete these fantastic homes.
The Observatory will also host a number of exclusive residents’ facilities, including a day porter, as well as a thoughtfully furnished residents lounge, ideal for co-working, socialising or relaxing throughout the day.
Chris Bladon, Managing Director, Eastern Home Counties, Countryside says:
“The topping out of The Observatory marks another key milestone in the delivery of Greenwich Millennium Village. This iconic new address highlights the next opportunity to live at this fantastic development and demonstrates our ability to continue to deliver high quality homes and our commitment to creating places people love”
“We predict that potential buyers will be drawn to the building’s prime position within Greenwich Millennium Village. It is ideally located next to the River Thames and the ecology park, and therefore the homes will boast spectacular views across the park and towards the city, with the additional benefit of the abundance of green space on the doorstep.”
Chris Genner, Project Director, Greenwich Millennium Village, says:

We look forward to launching future phases at Greenwich Millennium Village as we build on the 20-year legacy.”
