New community centre officially opens at Greenwich Millennium Village
Greenwich Millennium Village, a joint venture between Countryside Partnerships (part of Vistry Group) and Taylor Wimpey and in association with the Mayor of London, has now opened the doors to a brand-new community centre. Occupied by the London Development Trust – an organisation with over 15 years’ experience of community development - all partners involved came together on 10th April to celebrate the official opening of this fantastic new public space.
Designed to be a central hub for the community and located within Hearn House, the impressive two storey Community Centre is a vital new addition to Greenwich Millenium Village’s residents, boasting three separate spaces – all varying in size - for community activity.
Catering for a range of activities from dance, yoga or NCT classes to birthday parties and work meetings, it’s been designed to make life here even more inclusive. The Community Centre also incorporates a chef’s kitchen to encourage community cooking and offer cooking classes. The kitchen also enables residents the opportunity to offer catering for parties or events.
Designed to complement the wider development, the flexible space gives residents a hub in which to meet and socialise.
Peter Willis, Managing Director, Vistry Eastern Counties said:

The hub is a central space for people to come together and has been designed to make life here even more inclusive.
